Modes in the key of G major. Video Rating: 5 / 5
Hi buddy!
Yes, this is a modulation . In this case you can only use the liste modes because of the chords involved (I made sure to include all the notes that would make a chord progression Dorian and Lydian). I recommend my “Applied Theory for Guitar Players” found on guitarplayback(dot)com
It answers all those questions in detail!
Hello david!
Really helpful video thanks!
I have a question. When you change from D Dorian to D Lydian, this is something like modulation to a major same root(D) from a minor root(D)??Is that means that you could change as well to D Mixolydian and D ionian after D Dorian??How i can think about modulate between the major and the minor modes?
@Wallimann
4 days later, still enjoying it so much
and i’ve been jamming it every day
Highly recommended!
Thanks a lot man, I’m thrilled you like these!
i really enjoy these.. ah the joy of being able to play on all the strings easily…
i should take a deeper look into these someday. :O
thanks to your channel, i’ve been getting into more advanced musical theory… or theory at all, after i quit playing piano.
thanks for all of these videos!
i really enjoy playing around with these. really easy to improvise with.
ah, the joy of being able to play on all the strings without memorizing the positions for 15 minutes ;D

For me it’s really good stuff,
seemed pricey at first but when you are willing to invest the 5$ then you’ll probably !invest in geeting the most out of it – very helpful and fun
also great support from david,
so, good stuff..
Awesome! Thanks man!
I’m really liking this maptrack idea.
hey thanks man !!!!
Check out my video “Writing Killer Backing Tracks” on my channel. As far as soundcard, you would need a soundcard with low latency. Check out M-Audio’s Fast Track, it should fit your needs!
hey david how do you approach towards composing a track>>>?.and any other softwares that you can suggest that does not require a good soundcard…..i normally use guitar pro to compose…but ….i want to go a ittle further than that…thanks.
Thanks man! Actually, on the contrary.. The square notes are notes that are common to the key you are playing with and the next one. Those notes should be pretty smooth…
Thanks!
this track is so good…..i am buying it >>><<<
I love it awsome !
This one is great. I don’t use to like backings with changes like D dorian to C dorian. This is great, makes me imagine some melodic lines without a guitar. I have a question, if you use some square note the change will be hard to the ear? I use to prefer soft changes. On a change from D dorian to D minor keep only minor pentatonic while the BT modulates. What do you think?
Thanks a lot!
i love the interaction great stuff!
