Hey thanks for posting this video. I was looking for something like this, It’s a big help.
cool acoustic tone !!!!
okay so i was trying to adjust my action to make it lower cause I’m new to guitar and wanted it to be easier and well i sort of played around when adjusting the bridge and i screwed up the bridge. i didnt turn the bits equally and i think my guitar doesnt have nice action. How can i get my action to default and then adjust equally and correctly for my desired action?
what size hex is that?
i bought my squier from there. hes always working on necks behind the counter
Thank you SO much!!!!!!
He doesn’t take any risks
educative,inspiring
I was at Jim’s music a while ago and I played a damaged ESP guitar that had a problem like that. The problem was the tremolo bridge was too far forward and the pickups were too high, which caused the string to rest on the pickups when it was pressed down on. Maybe you could check that.
i Subscribed because i buy all my gear at Rainbow!!!!
i have a very important question. i have and ibanez rg guitar and i just had it fixed by a group of scammers. i got the guitar back and it sounded fine but once i started playing passed the twelvth fret it started to buzz and on some fronts i heard nothing. i think it is an action proble. please help.
Well done video and I think Porly62 should look around the web page before making comments. This video was based on the fact that the truss rod does not need to be adjusted. There’s another video that explains truss rod problems.
Each guitar is slightly different due to the manufacturing process. They are all set up the same from factory so that even the slackest example plays OK.
Guitars also flex and warp over time. Let alone with humidity and temperature changes.
By setting up your own individual guitar as shown here, you’ll get the best out of it. Factories don’t do this for you on mass produced guitars, and even if they did, after a year or so, or a string change, it will need it again.
Finally a great explanation on intonation for me – thanks!
Brilliant video. Clear, precise and everything I wanted within one video. Thank you!
ive got several guitars but whats with all this adjusting this that and the other ive just always got it out the box tuned it and started playing shouldnt the things already be adjusted to correct adjustments when they leave the shop just sayin
Even if this is for dummies, the most important thing is left out – the truss rod. You always adjust it first to spread the buzzing (which every guitar has more or less) over the entire neck. THEN you adjust height and the intonation. Many begginers obviousy are afraid of adjusting the truss rod but it makes or breaks the play and the feel of the guitar!
this video IS for dummies after all lol
actave
because it’s for dummies ^^
I was thinking the same thing! xD
I was about to blow a fuse until I saw the second part.
Dude Jimi Hendrix played a squier…….. I couldn’t type that with a straight face
Far and away the simplest and most informative video I have seen yet on keeping my Strat in tip-top shape. Thanks so much for bringing it down to a level that we guitar non-snobs can understand. Great help and great video! Thanks again
Great video! Thanks for posting it.
