real musicians, and wine..nice work..really, nice ears. good listen.
C.B. fantastic my gosh those runs from the beginning were letting you now that you were in for something special. Those jazz and guitar lovers that we are stand astounded at what he put together. Who can name it, except incredible from a master!
The video direction has a lot to be desired. Fantastic ensemble regardless!
Brilliant
Wonderful music. Charlie had such a great sound and was such a virtuoso. He could get a shimmering metallic tone out of an acoustic guitar when he wanted to as on Baia on the Jazz Samba album.
The used to come to San Diego and play at the Catamaran Hotel on Mission Bay. I was working in college and working as a bell hop. I loaned Joe Byrd my acoustic bass for the shows in exchange for bass lessons. Best tip I ever made.
Charlie at the Byrd’s Nest in Washington D.C. I know because I saw him there.
Thanks for posting a (relatively) younger Charlie in performance.
awesome video, it sure is nice to see the live performances, thank you for posting this.
Jitterbug Waltz , Fats Waller, Excellent rendition
This looks like the Byrd’s Nest, which Charlie owned. I don’t know for sure if it is the Byrd’s Nest, but sure looks like it. It’s near Washington D.C.
I second that!
That was F-ing sublime.
