Jimi Hendrix played with his thumb…
I have a epiphone les Paul standard
takes time to get used to.
my guitar is a flying V , I cant play it sitting at all =(
The neck of your guitar actually moves? Or do you mean, you shift the neck forward as you play? If the neck moves, then there’s something wrong with your guitar. Try woobling it to see if it moves. If you move it, then you must be applying to much pressure when you play. Just ease up, relax you arm and don’t press so hard with your fingers and thumb. You don’t need to strain to play a note. Moving around the guitar will be easier the more relaxed you are.
thank you!!! This certainly helps a beginner like me.
Cheers!
i don’t thiknk you’re supposed to use your thumb .
Thumbs up if you think he resembles ross gellar from friends just a tad bit?
one advice ur thumb must rest on the back of the arm and shouldnt be seen that much above the arm. take a look to chris brodrick one of the best today and see how he plays. the best thing u have to do when ur learning is watching the best of the best brodrick satriani steve vai malmsteen and watch some classical guiatar too and try to apply what u see. cheers!
The neck shifts forward during my chord changes, how do I keep it steady in place?
