Both Frank and Andreas approaches to harmony and rhythm at the start of this tune typify the Gypsy jazz style plenty of diminished and chromatic phrases bolstered by tight, driving rhythms comprised of sparse yet complex chord voicings. Later in the performance, we hear Andreas introduce more blues-based note choices with Frank following suit with his chord voicings and rhythms. Frank then explores a few blues phrases before the boys break into a classically-themed section, illustrating just how far the Gypsy jazz style can be taken. The piece wraps things up while exploring a more traditional approach.

When did Sawyer get so good in gypsy jazz?
andreas has beautiful melodic lines, not quite so predictable as vignola, but vignola is such a wonderful comper. great music all around, cheers
nothing like a little friendly competition
why?
too slow
nice
Are you sure that isn’t Rick Moranis from Honey I Shrunk the Kids?
Personnally, I prefer Andreas ‘s playing, It is not bcause it is fast that we people should say that he have no feelings .. The notes that he chooses are just great and original ! I hate when people act like they know music better than other and they say that fast musician is just impressive … Then go and tell that Joe Defransesco, Pat Martino, or even Chopin sucks !
