well i throwed into it and got it now. scales are just the tones of a chord or key…am i right?
What about them seems confusing to you? Different people absorb information differently, I’m always interested in finding the best way to explain things.
i have never got it with those scales…it just seems confusing to me. i just play whtat sound good to me and thats it. in terms of improvised soloing
If you are using the movable do system, the tonic of each major key becomes do. Some people do use a fixed do system though. Where I live movable do is the most common of the two. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Totally awesome scaling – didn’t know that’s how easy learning the major scale was – thanks for the vid and keep up all the awesome work! Love tutorials online, it helps those of us who’re broke to still learn guitar without having to go to expensive places to get lessons (only place within 50 miles here charges 60 bucks a lesson (half hour) lol so internet how to’s are awesome!
Those two fingers weren’t all he needed, they were all he had. There is a difference. He did absolutely more than anyone thought possible with what he had to work with.
My point is simply if you have the use of all your fingers, use them. Why wouldn’t you? Why would you not use every single option you have available to make the best possible music you can with what you have to work with? Which for most of us is more than 2 fingers. Thank you for your commentary & great discussion!
But all he needed was his index and middle fingers. I agree! He definitely was an amazing player… But I think that is just a testament of how mind over matter, and sheer willpower can subdue any obstacle that comes against the human spirit. Prime example..one way of looking at it is, if he can make that much absolutely BRILLIANT music with just those 2 finger, than your comment about use the pinky finger is contradictory. It is basically dependent on the musician.
If he could have, he would have! Imagine what he could have done if he had the use of all of his fingers! He certainly was amazing and a great player to look up to.
Django Reinhardt never used his pinky!!
