Cant speak for Alex but Pete is among the best jazz players in the uk. I have been following his Jazz colomns in GT for about 10 years now and can safely say he can more than hold his own amongst the best. Just because he doesn’t swing on this vid etc doesn’t mean anything!

@raist173 that’s a little misinformed. there are many instrumentalists and singers who have what we call perfect pitch, I know several as does every musician! the other , and most important is called Relative Pitch. but it is beyond debatable that calling a B a C for example is reinforcing the wrong name to a sound, even something close to perfect pitch is trainable if you go about it the right way!

  • raist173 11 years ago

not necessarily, its the distance between notes that matters to develop your ears, you should know all the notes but there are few people who aren’t singers that can hear a note and say its a C etc

If you do fingerstyle and chordal the Fender CN-240SCE is better than either guitar you mentioned, however as a general rule avoid Takemine acoustic electrics if they’re under $600.00 or so, their electronics are terrible.

  • SIMON COLDPLAYER 11 years ago

    You’re deaf…

  • ThatGuitarGuy093 11 years ago

You guys…Fender CF140SCE or Takamine EG440SC? I play a little fingerstyle and some chordal stuff, and I can’t decide between them

  • rrgert4 11 years ago

Y u no do a faith guitar review?

  • vsingh16 11 years ago

Clear, crisp sound, but it’s hard to beat the sweetness and richness of a Martin.

  • Gorishovie 11 years ago

    Heard both guitars yesterday, crap.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVIEW THEM !!

    THANKS

  • spokedness 11 years ago

I have an apx 700 also. Nobody who has ever played it has failed to comment on how easy and fast to play it is. Even compared to much more expensive guitars, the action is wonderful, the sound isn’t as good as a more expensive full bodied guitar, but I’d say the poster above you got a lemon if his was hard to play.

  • Flávio Castro 11 years ago

    Great review, rubbish guitars…

  • Tiago Gomes 11 years ago

hi! how does the apx700 compares to the Martin 000X1AE???
    Cheers!!

  • Jimall rice 11 years ago
