Hey, um when you play barre chords what do you do with your thumb? Do you also press it against the neck? Or not? Because I have been trying to play barre chords for a while now but whenever a song has many in a sequence my hand hurts so bad like between my forefinger and thumb.. HELP!

I’m crying from the pain…it’s so hard to mash down those strings & it’s an electric guitar too. I see what you’re doing I’m determined to learn ! I play organ & piano & jazz bass for many years. I follow charts well but my hand won’t cooperate what my brain tells me to do……

playing chord progressions is harder than soloing and those are easy chords, 6 , 9 and 13 chords or chord inversions, those are damn difficult to finger and play smooth.
