I live out in the country on a farm, and at 50-years-old, I began trying to learn the electric guitar. I’m a disabled veteran and I used prescribed pain medication, but it’s only been lately when I wised up and do almost no work, thereby needed minimal pain pills. So now I’m learning a lot more about the electric guitar, except I have to play in certain positions or endure pain. One must suffer for their art, they say. The lessons by Internet and Youtube are great! I’ve learned a lot from y’all.

This isn’t for finding notes on the fretboard, this is for after you know the notes and you’re trying to come up with some chord progressions in different keys.

hes saying that the first fingerd note of a chord is the same note as the chord.
looking down at the G chord you will notice the first note of the chord is on the 3rd fret of the E string, this note is G… thus the relationship between knowing the notes of the strings and chord progression.

Sorry to say this biraniancrisis but he didn’t know the video wasn’t going to learn him anything BEFORE he watched it so “Don’t watch it if you don’t like it.” is bullshit. And he’s just frustraded that he wasted one minute and 52 seconds on this dumb video of someone showing off his knowledge and not really being helpful to people who want to learn how to play guitar. So don’t blame him for being mad, he has right to be.

ok u have ur 6 strings, each fret represents a semi tone (half a tone), the 6 strings he already mentioned, and each fret u put ur finger on, that string will become that note.
E, F, F sharp, G, G sharp, etcetcetc

and on ur 12th fret, that’s an octave, so open E, on the 12th fret it’s E again. =)
