nice lesson young lady !
Nice tone! Is that a GFS P90? Not that it has all that much to do with the pickup….
Saw her play last night in Leominster, MA- All I have to say is… Whoa. She was amazing. Can’t wait to see her again!
wonderful. especially like the bossa nova chords. thanks.
Thank you for this excellent upload : )
Great lesson! Never seen a Guild jazz box before. What model is it? Thanks.
Thank you very much! Very educational.
you’re cool mam…:D
Good day Mrs. Miller, love the way you explained this lesson. Though it is a bit advanced for me, i like the way you explained.
This is THE MOST direct and easy to understand explanation of how beginning Major 1-4-5 chords can be played or generalized as jazz chords I’ve ever heard. WOW! Thanks!
Finally, I’ve been playing for so long I tend to forget these important guitar facts, Perfect! I can learn and retain with a female voice as teacher so much better!! Thanks.
hi jane..quite a gift if I may say the way u teach with a relevant demo videographed & in close ups of multi-screen focus aptly edited..wow, inspiring to learn jazz with little second thought or hesitation for that matter..absolutely cool and worth browsing ur channel..god bless u all for this sensible free but most important basic lesson of jazz of all ages..please help us learn more by sharing further..tks so much..warm regards..siva..india..(guitsiva)..
Hi Jane, I had not given that much consideration to 2-5 until your lesson, and then talking to a friend who plays well, who told me that if you can’t remember the chords to “All the Things You Are”, consider them this way; the key signature is Ab:
chord progression 6251
(consider the key has changed to C) chord progression 251
(change key to Bb) chord progression 2514
(change to G) chord progression 251
Although the key signature remains Ab few altered notes are needed. 251 all over.
I swear… up until around 10 years ago… when I heard jazz guys talking amongst themselves and one of em said… oh it’s just a simple 2-5… me the dumb rock player thought they were talking time signature! I’m thinkin what?… 2 beats over 5 to the bar?… what the…???
Really nice. A bit advanced for me, I have to write stuff down and figure it out, but I am learning more (I did get the scale right; I was istening. I am loookng forward to seeing another lesson. The hardest part for me, and they are all hard is I just don’t know enough chords, the grip and the notes. There seems so much to learn. I think for me, a little theory and a song to use it on makes the most sense. Thanks. (and the fret board and reading) the part about why it is Ami7 clered that up
Hi Jane, I like your guitar–noticed it is a Guild hollow body—what is the model of the guitar and what would a guitar like that cost? Thanks.
YesS.
Get yourself a looper and crank that amp and lessons would be so much more awesome!
Waauw!! That electric guitar sounds like a nylon string guitar.. I like that sound a lot
Jane I’ve played (sorta) for 40 years, lately jazz. Had 5 jazz teachers. Seen a million You Tube videos.
This is the clearest presentation I’ve seen. I sent it to my brother who just bought a Godin jazz guitar and wants to learn jazz.
Going to watch all your videos. Even if I already know it, it helps to get things presented clearly again. Keep smiling .
Hey Jane, where are you located? Excellent teaching method! Very effective!
guild ce-100? looks and sound great!
cool : )
hey! you are a good teacher! i’ve found this very helpful! Thank you!
nothing worth knowing can be taught,
