The mp3 and guitar tab for this song are available from jongomm.com You can Pay What You Want for the mp3, and a percentage of all proceeds go to The Happy House children’s home in Watamu, Kenya. www.childrenofwatamu.net This song is about I plant a grew in my 10-feet-square backyard in the Leeds inner city. I put the seeds in a tiny tub, but it grew like a Roald Dahl story until it took over the whole yard, then one day the sun shone extra hard and 100 flowers all went “Pop!”. It was amazing, so I wrote a song for it. If you have any questions about the song, or the guitar playing just ask! The video was made at The Northern Film School by the wonderful person that is Danielle Millea and her awesome colleague Owen Plummer www.northernfilmschool.co.uk Video Rating: 4 / 5 Jon Gomm performs Passionflower as part of his part of his recent Master Class held on campus here at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). Calm the fk down. You should go see Jeff Loomis, Emil Werstler, Tosin Abasi. Also, before saying 90% aren’t skilled and talented, maybe you should give names and examples. 90% is like stating a fact when you really don’t know much about music at all.

Hey, good day, Jon. I’m from Russia and I want to make a cover on this song with my friends. Is it ok with copyrights thing and other stuff?

  • betterbutterstutter 11 years ago

    I’m over here like.. “What’s a guitar?” .__.

  • Clayt0ns 11 years ago

That’s not good guitar that’s just garbage!……said no one ever. This is outstanding, 10 out of 10, hearing it makes me simultaneously inspired to continue playing, and also discouraged that I will never truly master the instrument quite like mr Jon gomm has. Bravo.

This song has genuinely led me to tears. Regularly.

sheet music regularly gives suggested fingering, on violin all the way from the beginnings of twinkle twinkle all the way up to the Paganini caprices, tabs are easier for people to read because most of the information about the science of music is missing. think of it like writing in sms text slang rather than formal language. there are more useful forms of writing music short hand for example chord charts and lead sheets give a much better impression of whats going on.

    Wow.

  • Mark Tisland 11 years ago

This is one of the most beautiful and intense examples of a soul and an instrument joining ranks to present itself in the form of passion that I have witnessed.
I am a metal fan by default, but as a wannabe musician, this is the type of thing I hope to create within myself one day.
all you haters out there should brush the chip off your shoulder and listen again … this time with the spirit.

  • ccase2k 11 years ago

This has to be mentally exhausting to play, a real pain in the ass. I can’t blame him for not being able to give it the same passion he had before. Must have been the nth time he’s played this.

was it just his voice or the guitar to??

  • risla001 11 years ago

No he said the other LIVE recording. No one is that stupid. Actually wait…some people are that stupid.

  • Exteminus 11 years ago

If you’re talking about the original on his channel that is not live. It’s was studio recorded.

  • mikemoseley 11 years ago

It’s because his voice is auto tuned in the other one. He even seems totally disappointed with his performance with this one

  • MattheoTheGreat 11 years ago

Are those banjo pegs on the
    1st and 2nd strings?

  • Pierre Hahne 11 years ago

    Realy nice Jon

    I like you very mutch

  • gtrslinger 11 years ago

lol The “devil” is not Candyrat, that’s Mike Varny!

  • Richard Cranium 11 years ago

wanna really dope, check out Adrian Legg working his tuning pegs. It was so dope…it was the doperest

  • Richard Cranium 11 years ago

it’s because he sold his soul to the devil…candyrat, i swear i heard him say somewhere he’s never join a “label”. Don’t get me wrong, i’d join a label(lol), but maybe his passion is gone…not Gomm(lol)

  • SuperCrazyIdiot 11 years ago

his bass string is out of tune slightly :(

  • nathan leamon 11 years ago

man when he uses the tuning pegs is the dopest part

  • Blobskan 11 years ago

However, as a continuation, I think the combination of the other tone for the chorus and this tone for verses would be perfect.

  • Blobskan 11 years ago

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I personally much prefer a softer sound for this song. I’ve always played guitar with just my fingers so maybe it’s a personal experience preference. I think the chorus is much… I wouldn’t say better. I think it flows better for me. The drumming also was much softer on the bass allowing for more accenting on the Tom/snare sound. Either way, brilliant track however he plays it.

  • rodrj0713 11 years ago

    Come to the US :D

  • PepeuForsaken 11 years ago

this ” :) ” looks like him smiling through the song.

  • Jeffrey Walker 11 years ago

it’s cool how good it sounds, despite the terrible acoustics lol

  • HoorayForJay 11 years ago

Perfect as always, the acoustics let him down though. I felt as if the guitar wasn’t as loud or slightly distorted like his first video of passionflower was, which caused the chorus to lose its sense of flow. Anyone else feel the same? I thought his playing was spectacular, just whatever amp he was using didn’t do him justice.

    Amazing o.o<3

  • Chuda1sm 11 years ago

You bastard, Jon. I just became paralysed by the shiver up my spine at 4:07

  • MrJackWrightable 11 years ago

he is incredibly talented, he won Australia’s got talent for a reason…Tommy emmanuel himself has toured with him and Joe in on his way to being one of the best finger pickers out of the country, of course you compare kids like him to masters….who else would you compare them to?

  • GtheJAR 11 years ago

are you kidding me? that kid is okay. he’s not fantastic, and definitely cant be compared with masters!

  • antisanity1 11 years ago

singing… drumming.. playing.. tuning and all the while, soulfully intact… words dont do this justice..
