This is a little masterpiece from late 19th Century Spain written for classical guitar. I released a video of this piece 2 weeks ago, which I played on steel string guitar, a fairly dangerous thing to do when one’s colleagues and fans happen to include many “classical” purists. My love for humanity was increased as I received only positive words for that performance. I heard a lot of “wow, I’d like to hear him play it on a classical guitar, too”. So, here it is, done on the a guitar very similar to what the composer played and conceived the work on. I am even more happy now. Hope this version will also make you smile. Nail shape……..if you go to the bottom of the video description (above) there is a link for my FB band page. I just put a picture of my RH so you can know how i shape my nails. today the middle and ring fingers have acrylic nails. the others are natural. Have fun!
I think the best lessons are the lessons you find online as you can watch them and learn whenever you feel like it instead of having to attend a lesson at a certain time. I would suggest searching for lessons on youtube for a beginner guitarist. I’ve heard that Guitar for Dummies is quite good and I think the full dvd is on youtube.
Finger nails on a classical guitarist are generally shaped in a ramp like shape on your picking hand. You can find more info on fingershapes on google

How do you shape your finger nails on your string hand? Did you take any guitar lessons? Would you think it would be good for a beginner to take guitar lessons?
Sounds gret as always Michael, be it on steel or nylon. Hell, you could pluck away at a line of tightly strung fishing poles and it would sound good.
I especially appreciate the perfect viewing angle and many close ups. This piece seems challenging and over my head but I hope to give it a shot. The close help a lot for fingering and flow.
awesome job michael. much prefer the nylon but was pleasantly surprised when i heard the steel version. thought that would sound terrible but it was very enjoyable too. would love to see you bring out the nylon more often

On this ‘classic’ version your fantastic performance skills are even more obvious. Personally i admire the clashing with the style using a steelstring. Music is freedom, also classic tunes should not be static.

More Da De Da De Da De Da Da (so much for my Segovia impression). Actually, It sounds nice but there could be so much more drama if you played it with a hijab and really get into the Arab part of it. In other words, I liked the Halloween send up — you have drama in your bones! And be aware of the setting which is not dramatic and detracts — you look like you are playing in a closet with all the guitars crowding around. Claustrophobic. And, yes, Segovia would approve of the hair cut.
