He has spent time studying Baroque interpretation with Ton Koopman and Henk Dekker, and theory and composition with Aureo Hererro. While Eric was in Spain he also had the honor of studying with the great composer Federico Moreno Torroba, perfecting the interpretation of Torrobas Sonatina in A. Eric Henderson’s new CD “Homage” and DVD “Homage Guitar Masterpieces” are a collection of pieces he has studied, arranged and performed over the last four decades. Both the CD and DVD include pieces by Bach, Villa Lobos, and other standards of the classical guitar. While nothing can touch the piano, I do think this is an excellent rendition of the work. Very emotive in its own way. Beautiful and has that Andalusian flavor! nice video, too!

I think this sonata is too subtle to work well transposed to the guitar, it loses a lot of depth.

where the 3rd movement? lol that would insane, some things are just best left to the piano and that needs talented player as well. this was decent but then again my instrumrnt isnt guitar eventhough i could dabble a tad with blues & metal.

Nice Playing indeed of a challenging piece. Great to see you have the piano ready either to tune the Guitar or play Chopin,,,

    some points that may help:
-build a strong technical base, so that when your playing theres no need to worry while playing,
-listen to a lot of music as this will help you to mature in a musical way
    – perhaps the most important thing: perform the piece in front of an audience
    - pack your rucksack and go hitchiking for some weeks, gater some life experience

as Segovia said, “you must respect the theme”
what i get from that is you have to feel the song, understand the emotion put into it when it was wrote. understand the thoughts the notes represent and really get “into” the song or the theme as he put it.
