What Are Modes, How Are They Made, And Why? Easy Lesson Explaining A Complex Subject. The subject of Modes can drive fear into the most seasoned of Guitarists & musicians but, it need not be the case. I have attempted to unravel a seemingly difficult subject into an easier to understand form. Once you get the grasp of Modes, you’ll see they are just a way to play your key scales at any point along the fretboard using the appropriate pattern, Dorian, Phrygian, etc. If you have any questions, I will try to answer ‘em. Thanks for watching. Please share, subscribe and comment.

Yeah, I had a lot of comments about this. I’m not able to remove it and, I was just trialling it on this one video but, it was a disaster! lol ;) I learned the hard way!
    Thanks for the feedback ;)

Good lesson, however the music in the background is annoying - sorry but it is!

Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, I have heard from a few people about this. I tried to make the video more ‘interesting with the addition of background music but, it was too loud and distracting. (I have made the same video in a HD version so, maybe that one is better).
I have since abandoned the music additions!
    Cheers ;)

Your back ground music should be removed. The music is not important, but what you
are trying to teach is really the important lesson. Your lesson is very interesting but I miss out some points because of the BG music.

Start from the 2nd interval of Ab Major, Which is C minor, a.k.a C Dorian.

Play the chords in Ab Major, But start from C.

Your lesson on mode is a seriously a great help for me. I refer to various books and learn. But, I was literally struggling with this part of theory concept. It made my life easy and cleared cobweb on modes. Thanks a zillion for your time, effort and patience to help me and others with this post. Please keep it up.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, it was a trial to see if background music could make boring music tutorials more palatable! Works for some and not for others. I will turn it down on next videos.
    Thanks

sorry but the music makes it impossible to concentrate on what you are saying.
